Flotilla Finder – Using
the correct zip code for Flotillas
The Flotilla Finder is an excellent method for potential members to find a nearby flotilla. Unfortunately, the current zip code listing for many flotillas may be based on an older program. Flotillas may update to the correct zip code and latitude/longitude of their current meeting location. All this can be done within Aux Directory athttps://auxofficer.cgaux.org/auxoff/signin4.php
To do this, first determine the zip code for the flotilla meeting location. Use a site to enter zip code for latitude/longitude, such ashttp://www.zipinfo.com/search/zipcode.htm. Then in Aux Directory, scroll down to district, open, then to flotilla, and open “Unit Info”. The Flotilla Commander (FC), Vice Flotilla Commander (VFC), or FSO-CS, will have an edit button to open. Meeting location, time, zip code, and latitude/longitude may be edited.
Excel Unit Roster download
Those members needing an Excel Unit Roster download, may do so from AuxData. Information is available in the “How To Library” in I Department. http://itgroup.cgaux.org/IU/howto.php. Topics are available in Power Point Presentations and PDF documents. “Useful AuxData Reports” demonstrates how to locate a roster. “Save a Report in Excel” and “Use Excel to Print a Member Roster” are both helpful.
The main goal for this Website Maintenance procedure is to reduce the temporary statistic files that collect in cPanel. The sites that may still be using CPanel are the legacy (pre-WOW) sites hosted by National. Over time if not removed and maintained the space these temporary files consume on each site is usually Mega Bytes. When a website is over quota it can usually be solved by removing these Temporary Files from cPanel. It would be good practice for CS Officers to perform this procedure at least as a quarterly maintenance routine.
This procedure only applies to the websites that have cPanel installed, including those that are hosted on the AIRS (Auxiliary Internet Resources Site) web server.
