Tuesday, September 11, 2001—We all said that we would Never Forget. 2977 fatalities, over 25,000 injuries and substantial long-term health consequences, 343 Firefighters and 72 Law Enforcement Officers, plus 55 Military Personnel—all gone. The deadliest terrorist attack in human history. The world was stunned, thousands of families affected, a nation in shock. We came together to mourn, to recover, to unite, to be a more perfect nation, and to always remember what it is to be an American. Today, for just one day, let us put aside our differences and remember what was lost and how we reacted to 9/11. Let’s be THAT nation for just today, at least. To all those affected by this horrible tragedy, we wish you peace and offer the most sincere measure solace that we will AWAYS REMEMBER.
