Subj:  REMINDER – 2025 CAPTAIN NIELS P. THOMSEN INNOVATION AWARDS NOMINATIONS

1.  This ALAUX is a reminder regarding nominations for the 2025 Captain Niels P. Thomsen Innovation Awards challenge, which was initially advertised in ALAUX 044/25.

2. The deadline for nominations has been extended to February 6, 2026. Auxiliarists are encouraged to review the message below from the Coast Guard Office of Wargaming and Innovation (CG-WI) and submit their innovative ideas.

The 2025 Captain Niels P. Thomsen Innovation Awards challenge has been extended to 06 February 2026!

If you have an idea to nominate, please submit your nominations on the CG_Ideas@Work site no later than Friday, 06 February 2026. Final award winners will be selected by the Coast Guard’s Research, Development, and Innovation Leadership in the following six categories:

A. Science or Technology
B. Operations or Readiness
C. Administration, Training, or Support
D. Culture Change
E. Coast Guard Auxiliary Achievement
F. The CDR Joel Magnussen Innovation Award for Management

All Coast Guard active duty, reserve, civilian, and Auxiliary personnel are eligible to submit ideas for consideration.
