ALAUX 020/26 Subj: RESTORATION OF FEMA INDEPENDENT STUDY (IS) COURSES AND END OF TEMPORARY WAIVER – USCG AUXILIARY EAST DISTRICT NORTHERN REGION

1. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding lapse has concluded, and the FEMA Independent Study (IS) online system is fully active and accessible. This ALAUX serves as the official notification that the temporary waiver authorized in ALAUX 018/26 is now concluded.

2. Auxiliarists who were granted provisional waivers for qualifications or leadership positions in AUXDATA II without the previously required IS courses (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800) must now complete this training.

3. Effective the date of this ALAUX, the 90-calendar-day completion window has begun. Auxiliarists holding provisional qualifications or leadership positions have until 9 August 2026 to complete the required online courses. Failure to complete the courses within this 90-day window will result in placement into REYR (Required Yearly) status in AUXDATA II and the loss of elected office eligibility.

4. Members should complete their required courses promptly and submit their completion certificates through their normal Chain of Leadership and Management (COLM) to ensure the training is properly recorded in AUXDATA II.

5. Internet release is authorized.
