TEMPORARY UNIFORM POLICY

Shipmates:

Recent global developments call for heightened awareness of personal security among Auxiliarists. To reduce unnecessary visibility while participating in Auxiliary activities, members are asked to follow the practices below:

1. Avoid traveling in uniform.

Auxiliarists should not wear their uniform while traveling to or from any assignment or activity. This includes travel to patrol launch locations, training events, meetings, and public outreach engagements.

2. Limit uniform wear at non-government locations.

When flotilla, division, or district meetings are held at venues that are not federal, state, or local government facilities, members should not wear the uniform. Uniforms may be worn when meetings take place at government facilities.

3. Minimize identifiable Auxiliary or military markings.

Members should avoid displaying easily recognizable Auxiliary or military identifiers on luggage, bags, tags, or similar items while traveling for assignments or personal business.

Please remain attentive to any security guidance or direction issued by the local Coast Guard Stations, Units, and Sectors you support. Questions regarding this guidance should be directed through your Chain of Leadership.

Thank you for your continued professionalism, vigilance, and cooperation in helping ensure the safety and security of our members. Additional guidance will be provided as circumstances warrant.
