Subj:  REVISED AUXILIARY UNINSPECTED PASSENGER VESSEL (UPV) EXAMINER PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATION STANDARDS (PQS) WORKBOOK

1.  The Performance Qualification Standards (PQS) workbook that Auxiliarists must use to qualify as an Auxiliary Uninspected Passenger Vessel (UPV) Examiner has been revised. It can be found on the following website (within the national Auxiliary Prevention Directorate website, under the Marine Safety tab via the MS PQS link):  Auxiliary Prevention Directorate – Marine Safety.

2.  Auxiliarists who are currently qualified as UPV Examiners will remain qualified without any need to complete any part of the revised PQS. Auxiliarists who have already begun the qualification process with the old PQS version may continue to complete that for their qualification as long as it is completed by 01 July 2026. Auxiliarists who begin the qualification process from this date forward must use the revised PQS.
