Good Order and Discipline Report

I am pleased to share the first edition of the Auxiliary’s Good Order and Discipline Report.

To maintain good order and discipline in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, consider these key practices:

• Uphold the Coast Guard’s core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty.
• Follow established protocols and procedures consistently.
• Foster open communication to address issues and concerns promptly.
• Lead by example to inspire others in maintaining discipline.
• Provide regular training and education on policies and expectations.
• Recognize and reward exemplary behavior to reinforce positive conduct.

The Auxiliary Good Order and Discipline Report, available at the link below, is the inaugural report to provide a summary of disciplinary and administrative actions taken when Auxiliary members fail to uphold the high ethical, moral and professional standards we share in the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary. While the active duty and Auxiliary systems are separate with different procedures, rights and purposes, the underlying core values remain the same.

This report is a summary of several years of investigations and disciplinary proceedings. We plan to publish additional summaries twice per year and can be found in the “Resources” page at the top of the ANACO-CC (Chief Counsel) page behind the member zone, so your member login is required to view it.

District Legal Officers, the Auxiliary Chief Counsel, and the Deputy Chief Counsel submitted and compiled the information. The report excludes identifying details to preserve anonymity as much as possible.
