Subj: REACTIVATION OF AUXILIARY SAPRR AND CRA TRAINING FOR AUXCT REQUIREMENTS
1. ALAUX 008/25 “TEMPORARY UPDATE TO AUXILIARY CORE TRAINING,” announced that the Civil Rights Awareness (CRA) course and the Sexual Assault Prevention, Response, and Recovery (SAPRR) course were under review and being updated by Coast Guard subject matter experts. The CRA and SAPRR courses, which are Auxiliary Core Training (AUXCT) courses and are a requirement for all Auxiliarists, were made available again in the Auxiliary Online Classroom “Moodle” today.
2. Auxiliarists who need to complete their CRA and SAPRR courses to meet their AUXCT requirements and avoid being placed in Required Yearly Not Met (REYR) status have until December 31, 2025 to do so.
3. If an Auxiliarist is sensitive to the content of the SAPRR course, they may elect to “opt-out” of the online course. Electing to “opt-out” may involve extra time commitments. In this case, the opt-out option for the online course is taking the course in an alternative way (i.e., having a private conversation with a Coast Guard District Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC)). Only SARCs are authorized to know and provide the “opt-out” code.
4. The “opt-out” process is as follows: an Auxiliarist electing to “opt-out” must contact their respective SARC to schedule and receive the alternative 1-on-1 training with them (the list of SARCs is provided in paragraph 6 in this ALAUX message). Upon completion of the individual training, the SARC will give the “opt-out” code for the online course. The Auxiliarist must screenshot their course completion certificate page and email it to their Flotilla Staff Officer for Information Systems (FSO IS) or follow district policy for prompt data entry into AUXDATA II. Then, the SAPRR course must be created as a task in the member record, and it will show as complete for meeting AUXCT requirements in AUXDATA II.
5. The CRA and SAPRR courses can be accessed on the Auxiliary Online Classroom (Moodle) at: https://classroom2.cgaux.org/moodle/.
