87th Anniversary of the Coast Guard Auxiliary

On the 87th anniversary of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, I want to thank each of you for your lasting service, dedication, and commitment to our nation.

Since 1939, we have answered the call to duty by volunteering our time, talents, and skills in support of the Coast Guard and the communities we serve.

For 87 years, Auxiliarists have supported boating safety, public education, vessel safety checks, communications, chaplaincy, culinary services, marine environmental protection, search and rescue, emergency response, and many other missions that advance maritime safety and security.

Your service represents volunteerism at its best: professionalism without expectation of recognition, readiness when needed, and a deep commitment to neighbors, mariners, and country.

As we mark this milestone, we look ahead with pride and purpose, confident that the Coast Guard Auxiliary will remain a vital force multiplier and trusted partner to the Coast Guard for generations to come.

Very Respectfully,

Mary Kirkwood
